WEEK 39 -- SOLES FOR SOLES (NEW SHOES AT LAST!)

January 6, 2014

Happy New Year!
Sorry about last week, wasn´t feeling the best but I am up and going so don´t worry, all is well :)

So the 31st was a great day. President just showed up to our zone meeting and it was great. I don´t think it was anything he said but it certainly got me thinking about what kind of missionary, companion, and daughter of God I am. AND why I was serving a mission. My companion and I were even more quiet this day, pretty deep in our thoughts. We had a great talk by the end of night and a prayer of hope. We had found one new investigator in all my time here in Churrillos, and we were getting desperate. We left on January 1st with faith and hope in our hearts and.... we found 4 new investigators!!! :) One of them, Dora, accepted a baptismal date for the 25th of January and leaving our lesson with them I just about cried in happiness and gratitude for my Heavenly Father. He loves us and listens to EVERY SINGLE prayer! It was a great start to a new year!

Random note! Hermana Udy is finally buying new shoes. I have had plans for awhile to get new ones but things have come up and we just haven´t had the time to go and yeah. But I am sending pictures so you can see what a pair of HERMANA shoes look like. Remember the General Conference talk about an Elder´s shoes? Well, I think I might just save these ones for President Capener :) (joking!) These shoes have walked a lot of miles and visited a lot of children of God! they have gone from Utah to Leesburg, VA to Ayacucho Peru and now to Lima!

A new year, a new pair of shoes, a time to work my heart out!

Les quiero!

Until next week!
Hermana Udy

Cute Missionary Shoes Aren't So Cute Anymore!

She was blessed that she would walk in Holy Places not in Holy Shoes.
I told her I didn't care how many soles they cost, BUY NEW SOLES!
