Well, I am in Virginia!
Woo!! Haha it is so crazy that I am actually here! It's been a crazy couple
days.
There were 38 of us
that came here, half of them visa waiters mostly haha. For Peru and Australia!
But they were SUPER organized haha between all of our luggage and vehicles it
could have been a mess but it was great! The first night we were at the mission
home having a fireside while President Riggs interviewed us. I can just say he
is an incredible man! He is super funny, spiritual, intelligent, everything a
mission president should be! He was so great and he was quick to remember who
we are and all about us. The next morning we found out who our trainers were!
My trainer is Hermana Shelton who is from Logan and was an Aggie... :) Couldn't
have picked it any better! She is great! I am her 3rd "baby" so she
is pro at training! The transfer meeting was a big deal because they are
splitting the mission in July so depending on the area you are in is where you
will go. Everyone was excited but I was still dazed I had no idea what was
going on haha.
Then, we went to work!
We were able to visit people that evening and uh my Spanish.... "No hablo
espanol" haha. Actually I could understand most of it but had no idea how
to respond! So I hardly ever talk so I always give the prayer which I can do!
We do a little tracting and but we are lucky to have some appointments. We
mostly drive places then walk around haha. I am in Leesburg, which is in one of
the richest counties in America I am told, and it's pretty evident. Some nice
cars I have never heard of are here haha. The houses are beautiful! I love it
here, very very very green and trees everywhere! Kind of different! And
no mountains but I'm adjusting :)
Sunday was
great!--From what I understood... haha. We have a Spanish group
that is apart of another ward that we meet with. It was great to have fast and
testimony meeting, I could understand a lot. They asked me to bear my
testimony haha but luckily that is one of the first things they teach us
:) During Sunday school, I kind
of zoned out haha because I didn't understand a lot of it. For Relief
Society, everyone left? Haha so we were in the lobby talking with the other
Hermanas and it was about 11:50 when a lady walks in. She asked us where she was supposed
to go because this was her first time, what what?!? Apparently she had met
the missionaries and made a promise to go. She has been researching
religions for about 30 years and she has come back to Christianity, and soon to
be LDS :) It was great, a miracle in disguise of not going to Relief
Society....Haha not a good enough reason to not go every week
though.
I love it here! My
testimony is growing and I am so thankful for my knowledge of
the Gospel, it has helped me tremendously! I see people that I can't
wait to help. Love you :)
