Week 9 ... "Miracle Sunday"

June 10, 2013

So this week.... it was good but interesting. All during the week, we were not having any success. Our appointments would fall through, the people we visited didn't really want to listen, the list could go on. So we were trying to be hopeful that the next day would be better, then the next, then the next haha until it was Sunday. BUT that's what makes this week incredible!!
Sunday can be called "Miracle Sunday". A lot of miracles.

First, one of our investigators came to church! AHHH! We have been working with him and I am super excited! He has been keeping our committments and reading and understanding and I get so excited talking about it! Anyway, he said he wasn't coming to church because it is "too" early, (we have that problem A LOT). But.... He came! Part II of the miracle, the sacrament talks were about the concerns he had had the night before in our lesson! God is in control of the situation always.

Second mini miracle, this week was a tough one for me. I struggled with homesickness, inadequacy, all of the great feelings that everyone wants to have :) BUT when I was in the foyer of the church, a brother comes up to me and says "You probably don't know this but we've met before." Haha I was kind of confused but come to find out Brother and Sister Hayes know Mike and Sari! It was great just to know someone who knows someone I know, weird I know but it helped. I talked to his wife later and oh man, made me happy :) haha she says I'll have to come over and play the piano. Sidenote: Pretty sure I have played the piano at every meeting I have been to so don't worry, I'm playing :)

Third miracle! We were going to check on a referral we had but he wasn't there? BUT we talked with husband and wife with their little daughter and we have a return appointment tonight! They are Christian but were really accepting and understanding of the first lesson so... we'll see how tonight goes :)

Fourth miracle!! We don't have any elders in our area/zone that speak spanish and we have a lot of single male investigators. So we have to find a woman to go with us who preferably speaks spanish, it's been kind of difficult. But one of the girls we take a lot told us about a RM sister that served in Colorado SPANISH speaking that is available after 4:30 everyday and all day Friday.... If you could only understand how incredible of a blessing that is!! So, we were pretty stoked! :)

FIFTH miracle!!! We knocked on "Miracle Family's" door (they were found in a miraculous way before I came here and..... we don't know their last name :) ) They weren't there so we were walking to another investigator's, but I was slightly distracted talking about Mandrin Chinese? Haha SOOO random I know but if you remember... that's how I work haha. THEN the "Miracle Family" pulled up while we were talking and invited us in! We taught the Plan of Salvation and addressed some concerns they had, it was a great evening!

Those are the big miracles from the day. There are little ones every single day that I often over look. I've started a blessing/miracle book that I try to keep record of the miracles I witness. It's been great to keep, can't wait to read it after the mission and see what miracles I have witnessed.
This week might have been rough, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? Endure to the End! Miracles are real! God is control! A bunch of one liners that sum up this week. Love you, miss you, talk to you soon :)
