| And then there were 4! These are a few of my favorite people! Sad to say goodbye, but looking forward to my new adventure!!! |
Well... I´m in Peru!!! :)
But first! Last week n Leesburg we had a great week of
miracles! Last Tuesday we had some time before our appointment with Carolina
and Mauricio and we were trying to decide what to do. I kept looking at my
plans and ¨Couch¨ house just kept sticking out to me. We had driven past a
house that had a couch on the porch and Hispanics sitting outside so of course
we had to stop by :) We decided to go check it and when we knocked on the door
we had hardly said ¨Somas misionaras...) before he let us in! There was 3
others in the kitchen that we just sat down and taught the 1st lesson right
there. It was a great experience! It was so great that we were late to our
appointment. We ran there as quick as we could and met a member. We are so
grateful to have him with us because we were teaching about the Sabbath Day and
they think that the Sabbath Day is Saturday! I had no idea! Haha, it’s probably
something that I missed amongst the Espanol. Anyway, he was able to answer
questions that we have tried, but it wouldn´t have been very successful.
My last week was great, it was hard to leave but we knew it
was coming :) The fly here was great! Slightly long but nothing compared to
what was to come.... :) I met up with two other elders that were going to my
same mission! It was nice to see someone with a tag haha. I was grateful for
the time to talk with those at home that I could :) I only cried a little :)
the thing that got me was Drew´s voice! He is growing up and I don´t like it
haha.
We arrived in Peru about midnight, I think. It was REALLY
late and I don´t really remember. I went to a hotel to sleep until I went to
the office the next morning. I was laying there just thinking ¨Whoa.... I´m in
Peru.¨ Haha I couldn´t sleep for a bit but about 2 I was able to. The next
morning I met with the other missionaries from the MTC and those on the plane
where we had an orientation. President and Sister Douglas, I LOVE THEM! They are so great! All of them spoke in Spanish
and miraculously I was able to understand most of it! Amazing, I was in shock
for a bit.
I´ve been assigned to Ayacucho with Hermana R from
Peru. This area is great! But we had a 10 hour bus ride to get here.... :) haha
It was great! But because we didn´t leave until 9:30 at night, we went to the
TEMPLE! That´s right, my first day in Peru, I went to the Lima Temple! :) :) :)
It was so great! So beautiful, very small! See pictures :)
After the 10 hour bus ride through the night, we got here
this morning around 7ish and we just have been unpacking etc. We have Pday
today which is great so I can get my head on straight and realize, I´M IN PERU!
Just from what I´ve seen so far, it´s just like the pictures I´ve seen. :) I
haven´t been able to take too many pictures so far but don´t worry, I will :)
Les quiero mucho!
-Hermana Udy
P.S. I´m just super happy, in case you didn´t catch the
drift haha :)
